Royal Pigeons Part II

It is only fair, following my earlier post

Royal Pigeons – Animal Wild

to report that our king, Charles, following a request from PETA, has withdrawn patronage and severed all ties with the ‘sport’ of pigeon racing. Previously he banned foie gras from all royal events and residences. He is to be applauded for both. This also shows just how effective PETA is. In their e-newsletter they also report on protests against bullfighting in Pamplona, that Ethiopian Airlines is still transporting thousands of endangered monkeys around the world for use in experiments, and highlight the exposé (far from the first) of what goes on in RSPCA assured farms. Charles is of course patron of the RSPCA*. I wonder how long it will take them to do anything about this, if they ever do, given that their own president, Chris Packham, has spoken out on the subject. He must have considered resigning, or at least threatening to, but it is probably not as straightforward as it seems. Perhaps both Charles and Chris should threaten to resign, otherwise the organisation, if it does not renounce the scheme entirely, will have no moral authority and deserve no respect.
