Just a few more close-ups

I spotted this at the foot of dead tree stump in a pub garden. Apparently it’s a young bracket fungus or a basal decay fungus releasing spores, fed by the decaying wood.

Sadly a dead Red Admiral and a bee but they did give me the chance to take these.

Virburnum

Meanwhile the Ivy is alive with Ivy Bees and other insects and there were eight Blue Tits on or just by the peanut feeder just now. At least one of them, as last year, is repeatedly knocking on the fence in an aggressive territorial manner.
