Photographing birds in flight part II

Well now I can’t stop. And I seem to be getting there. Just in case anyone is reading this who has a P1000 or its recent successor and has been struggling as I have, the best settings seem to be shutter priority mode, shutter speed 1/2000, bright light if possible (or else increase exposure afterwards) and tracking mode on from the focus menu, with pre-shooting cache also selected. Plus patience and a willingness to make plenty of mistakes and accept that some results will still be blurred. Obviously one of these below is just a wing and legs, but it bodes well for what’s possible. Not all of the birds below look as though they are actually flying, but they are. Once I get better at this I will be more selective.

I relentlessly googled this and kept reading that pictures like these were not possible with this camera. There had to be a way.
